Division of Small Animal Internal Medicine

Small Animal Internal Medicine is a division of the Department of Clinical Sciences. The mission of this division is to enhance the science and practice of small animal medicine through teaching and mentoring of students and providing clinical services for animal owners in small animal medicine.

This division is currently working in the following research areas:

  • Inflammatory bowel diseases in dogs and animal models (mouse and rat)
  • Small animal tumors with a focus on canine mammary gland tumors
  • Infectious diseases of dogs and cats with a focus on zoonotic diseases
