Faculty of Veterinary Medicine was founded in 1987 and started its function in 1988. There are four levels for study in this faculty including:

  • Doctorate in Veterinary Reproductive Biotechnology (PhD), 
  • Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM),
  • Master of Science (MSc) in
    • Veterinary Parasitology,
    • Veterinary Histology, 
    • Clinical Biochemistry, 
    • Food Quality Control, 
  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in
    • Veterinary Laboratory Sciences,
    • Meat Inspection and Hygiene.


All students are qualified through the National Entrance Examination held annually by the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.

DVM students graduate having passed 222 credits in eight areas including basic sciences, pathobiology, food hygiene, animal nutrition and husbandry, genetics, fish hygiene and diseases, and clinical sciences. DVM graduates are expected to be able to diagnose and prevent animal and poultry diseases.

Holding a degree of Veterinary Technician is necessary for gaining admission to Veterinary Laboratory Sciences. In this course of study, students graduate by passing 73 credits in BSc of Veterinary medicine Laboratory Sciences.
